Japan's fourth biggest video-game manufacturer, Konami is recognized as the fourth biggest video-game manufacturer in Japan. Following the poor performance of the arcade sector, Konami diversified and entered into the manufacture of slot machines. Since 1978, Konami began to establish strong ties with several game developers in the US so that they could get a clear idea about what players were looking for. The company had the finances and expertise required to turn the venture into a success.
Tatuso Miyasako founded the gaming company Konami in 1969. The meaning of ‘Konami’ is ‘little waves,’ and the company began designing arcade games as early as 1973. Super Cobra and Scramble were released in 1981. Konami also produces slot machines and video games. Its headquarters were relocated to Vegas in 2005 to better understand the requirements of American players.
Codes. Gradius and Contra had cheat codes, wherein players were merely expected to press a specific set of buttons after pausing the game. The code allowed players to receive help in getting past difficult levels, or simply enhance their gaming experience.
